The Convocation began October 2nd at 8:00 a.m. with a continental breakfast. Then, after a brief prayer service, The Rev. Diane Kessler, Executive Director of the Massachusetts State Council of Churches, spoke on “Unitarian & Universalist Ecumenical History and Future Prospects.” After a Plenary Session, the Convocation concluded with a Service of Holy Communion.
The Council of Christian Churches within the Unitarian Universalist Association was established in 1984 by Unitarian Universalist congregations committed to Christian worship. It is an unincorporated association of churches and fellowships within the Unitarian Universalist Association cooperating to promote, safeguard and deepen the Christian witness as it is found among churches affiliated with the Unitarian Universalist Association. One of its key missions is the support of Unitarian Universalist intellectual debate and historical scholarship.
